Phoenix

Phoenix, also known as the 'Valley of the Sun', is the capital located in north-central Arizona, boasting a population of over 2 million people. With an average humidity of 28% and an average rainfall of seven inches a year, residents and visitors alike enjoy a fabulous climate most of the year. June, July and August can get a bit hot "but it's a dry heat".

Downtown is the core of one of America's largest cities. The state's tallest buildings and professional sports stadiums, home to the Arizona Diamondbacks (2001 World Series Champs) and the Phoenix Suns, are found along with symphony hall, libraries and theatres. A significant amount of 'urban living' has become available in the downtown area to include lofts and high-rise living. Phoenix real estate includes the many historic districts in the Phoenix downtown area. Two of the most popular are Encanto and Willow. These homes are very distinctive and loaded with charm. Phoenix is a rather large metropolitan area covering almost 450 square miles and a population of approximately 1.6 million residents. Industry began to develop after World War II to include aviation, aerospace and all of the usual high-tech companies of the era. This is a far cry from 1940 when the population was 65 thousand and the primary industries were cattle, cotton, citrus and copper. Call Gary & Michael for Phoenix real estate

Central Avenue divides Phoenix down the middle, running north and south. East of Central Avenue is streets and west of Central Avenue is avenues. Due to this grid-like layout Phoenix is a very easy city to navigate.

The recently completed freeway system circles the city with one main artery cutting down the middle. Access to downtown is quick and direct. The entire 'loop' can be driven in approximately one hour. The airport is just east of downtown offering easy access via multiple freeways.
